Celebrating Landon Montgomery’s Second Summer with Graystoke and Fortified

Today, we are celebrating Landon Montgomery as he completes his second summer internship with Graystoke Capital Partners and Fortified Property Solutions.

Landon first joined our team last summer and quickly made a lasting impression. We even named one of our Boise apartment communities, The Landon, in his honor. This year, we were excited to welcome him back for another summer of learning, hard work, and hands-on experience across nearly every area of our business.

A Boise native, Landon currently attends The College of Idaho, where he studies Business Finance and plays soccer. Outside of school and work, he enjoys golfing, going to the gym, spending time with friends, and escaping to Sun Valley whenever he can.

When asked what he hoped to gain from his second internship, Landon shared that he was excited to continue learning and gain hands-on experience across the wide range of work Graystoke Capital uses each day. He certainly did exactly that.

A Summer of Hands-On Experience

There was no typical day for Landon this summer. He approached every assignment with a willingness to learn, contribute, and jump in wherever he was needed.

Throughout the internship, Landon:

  • Assisted with financial analysis
  • Completed lease file audits
  • Audited resident demographic information
  • Reviewed property marketing listings for accuracy
  • Made prospect follow-up calls
  • Assisted with resident delinquency calls
  • Spent a day building patio furniture for the Graystoke and Fortified headquarters
  • Traveled to Helena to help turn apartment homes
  • Supported both corporate and onsite teams with special projects

From working through financial data in the corporate office to building patio furniture at HQ and helping prepare apartment homes in Helena, Landon experienced firsthand how many different people, departments, and responsibilities come together to operate and preserve multifamily communities.

More importantly, he never treated any assignment as too small or outside of his role. Landon brought a positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong work ethic to everything he was asked to do.

More Than an Internship

Internships are designed to provide students with meaningful professional experience, but our interns also bring tremendous value to our organization. Landon’s contributions helped our teams complete important audits, connect with residents and prospects, prepare apartment homes, and gain better visibility into property operations.

His second summer with us also gave Landon the opportunity to continue developing skills in finance, operations, marketing, leasing, and asset management. These are experiences he can carry with him as he returns to The College of Idaho.

When he is not studying, working, or playing soccer, Landon enjoys spending time in Sun Valley, golfing, going to the gym, and watching the World Cup. Bummer for Team USA!

From the Graystoke and Fortified Team

“I had the joy of sitting next to Landon in the office this summer, and I was constantly impressed by the way he could lock in and power through a task. He worked quickly, stayed humble, and was never afraid to ask a question. He was constantly asking, ‘Do you have anything for me to work on?’ because he would finish what was in front of him and immediately look for the next way he could help.

Landon brought a great sense of humor to the office, always dressed professionally, and was a true team player. One of my favorite things was watching his friendship grow with the other interns.

I will definitely miss my desk neighbor and wish him the very best during soccer season and his next year at school. Fun fact: Landon is also a Fabletics ambassador, so make sure to follow him on Instagram for some great fits.”

Marketing Manager

“I was proud to be there when The Landon was named the 2025 IAA Renovated Community of the Year, and I am even more proud of everything Landon accomplished this summer. He brought an outstanding work ethic and a level of professionalism that was especially impressive for someone his age. Landon also demonstrated strong financial insight and a solid understanding of the workplace. He was an incredible addition to the team, and I wish him nothing but the best in the future.”

Joe Foran
Chief Financial Officer

“Landon consistently looked for ways to help, remained focused, and followed through on every task. Thank you for your dedication and all of your contributions.”
